Looking for a Few Good Men - stories of loyal sons, faithful husbands, and true sweethearts (and a few rogues). Tales of Jack and his adventures with giants, magicians, and his rascally brothers. Stories of standing up for oneself and finding a place in the world and maybe true love, and stories of the great Irish heroes.

Dutiful Daughters and Wise Women - It’s not always the men who are the heroes, and it’s time to reclaim the feminine fairy and folk tales! A little sister rescuers her seven brothers, and a girl follows the cursed prince nearly to the ends of the earth. For an older audience—King Hamed bin Bathara and the Fearless Girl where the heroine sets the kingdom to rights.

Halloween – A favorite holiday from scary to not so. Slightly spooky stories and fun jump stories like The Hopping Pumpkin for the younger crowd, 4 to 6. Chilling stories like Mary Culhaine, Mr. Fox, The Lindworm, and a touching story about a ghostly dog for the older listeners. Jane tailors the stories for the audience and aims to bring every listener safely home.

Arabian Nights - a longer program of some of the lesser known stories from the Arabian Nights, night after night the resourceful Scheherazade tells the king stories full of magic, passion, and Djinns to heal him of his madness and to save her life. The tales are a bit risqué and a lot of fun. Not for children.

Stories from the Jewish Traditions - Tales of King Solomon—stories of his wisdom and of his clever daughter; stories of the fools of Chelm; Jewish folktales told for generations; and the legends of the angel Elijah and his miraculous interventions. Jane also tells stories to help the listeners celebrate the Jewish holidays such as Purim and Hanukkah.

Hans Christian Andersen - a program in appreciation of Andersen’s happier stories–The Ugly Dicking, Five Peas in a Pod and others.

Calamity Jane Comes Back to Town - Jane, Calamity, that is, - addresses the Deadwood Ladies Auxiliary in her old stomping ground. She tells them of her real adventures (perhaps a tad exaggerated,) her love for Wild Bill Hickock and long friendship with Buffalo Bill. Calamity Jane came west in a covered wagon and lived to see the World’s Fair lit by electric lights.

Jane Dorfman IS Calamity Jane. It is no coincidence that their first names are the same. Jane Dorfman’s performance of Calamity Jane brings you into the heart and mind of this 18th century legend. With humor and grace Jane Dorfman’s takes her audience into what was the real world of Calamity Jane
